TESTIMONIALS
“As a professional organizer, sometimes my job means getting my clients from A to B quickly and efficiently. Recently, toward the end of a senior downsizing move, we were faced with an unexpected issue during the clean out process. As it was a sensitive subject, and their realtor needed to get the house ready to show and put on the market, I needed help immediately.

Thank goodness I knew who to call even on a Saturday morning and within hours we had a crew at the premises who worked professionally and calmly to get this tough situation taken care of. My clients were pleased that it had been taken care of so quickly and especially the same day. I won’t hesitate to call your company when I come across the trickier clean-out issues that happen quite frequently in my profession.”

The Water Removal Process

A trained Flood Department technician will arrive at your property in uniform, introduce themselves and lay out a mat to prevent tracking dirt and debris in and out of the area.

Upon entering your building, our professional moisture detection equipment will be utilized to evaluate the area and document conditions inside and outside. We will also assess the moisture levels in materials in the affected and unaffected areas. This step is important for both the remediation process and dealing with the insurance company.

Our technicians will evaluate and document the source, reason and time that the water intrusion occurred and also catalog any visible material deterioration, pre-existing damage and microbial growth.

Once we establish moisture content and drying goals for the affected area, we will let you know the plan and begin the restoration process.

We will work with you to restore your home or business back to wonderful condition and let you get back to life as normal.

Mold Remediation

Have you noticed small signs of mold in your home? Does the air in parts of your home or business smell musty? If so, Flood Department has your back and can take care of mold remediation in Frederick, MD and the surrounding areas. We know how to safely remove and clean contaminated materials to reduce the emission of fungi and contaminated dust. We can also perform mold remediation on more dangerous types of mold, including black mold.

Areas We Serve:

  • Mt Airy, Sykesville, Eldersburg, Westminster, Frederick, Columbia, Frederick County, Howard County, Carroll County, Maryland

Information about Mold

  • Mold is present throughout the exterior and interior of most homes and is not inherently dangerous.
  • Mold spores are invisible to the naked eye and can enter homes through windows, doors, HVAC systems or pets.
  • Mold spores need moisture to grow, and they can grow rapidly when exposed to moisture.
  • Before mold remediation can occur, water and moisture sources must be determined and removed or limited.
  • Humidity levels above 45% can cause mold to thrive. Several types of mold, including black mold, are incredibly toxic to humans.

The Mold Remediation Process

Stop the moisture source. If there is still moisture present in your home, any attempts at mold remediation will be unsuccessful unless the source of moisture is cut off.

Isolate the part of the home with moisture and mold to minimize the likelihood of spores spreading to other areas.

Professionally filter the area using a combination of HEPA air filters and negative air machines. These machines will run for the duration of the mold remediation process as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), gaseous compounds and other airborne pollutants are removed.

Contaminated materials that cannot be cleaned will be removed. Sheetrock, carpet, furniture and other damaged materials will be treated or removed to prevent mold from returning.

Don’t risk your family’s health and well being. Call Flood Department to assist with your mold problem today!

SteraMist

steramist

Flood Department is an authorized provider of SteraMist Binary Ionization Technology(BIT) Solution. This process was created during the anthrax scare in 2001 by the government and the technology was sold into the private sector after that to TOMI. This technology far exceeds manual application of disinfectants for several reasons, three main ones stick out. First is dwell time. In order for manual disinfectants to be effective they need to have a dwell time of from 5 to 10 minutes depending on the product. Hardly anyone applies them according to the EPA registration approved guidelines and therefore the use of manual disinfectants is insufficient.  SteraMist has a dwell time of 5 seconds. Second, SteraMist has a micron size of 0.05 microns and with the misting form of application this allows the SteraMist mist to get into nooks and crannies that manual applications will not allow for. And third, SteraMist is perfectly safe to apply to computers, keyboards, cell phones, monitors, etc. There is no harm done, no corrosion, no residue left behind, nothing to wipe off.

We are recommending that companies think about this technology as a precautionary measure considering that one of their customers might have been exposed and has carried COVID-19 into their facility. Their social distancing measures may have been effective to keep their employees from contracting COVID-19 but the virus may still be alive on surfaces and still be a danger to staff or other customers.

It’s hard to imagine anything scarier than a home fire. When this nightmare becomes a reality, it can be completely devastating for you and your family. The fire may be over, but the damage and heartache remain.

Heat Damage

Hot flames melt synthetic materials, scorch walls and ceilings, and wreak havoc on electrical and plumbing systems. There’s often a lot of damage between walls and within ventilation systems. Heat damage can be extensive and elusive so ensure you’re speaking to experts when working with your insurance company.

Smoke Damage

Smoke lingers in carpets and furniture, affecting areas untouched by flames. It mixes with water to form soot that covers floors and upholstery. Hiring a restoration company to inspect your property ensures that you begin recovery efforts immediately. Smoke and soot can cause serious issues with indoor air quality.

Water Damage

First responders save lives and property and put their safety on the line when a fire threatens your home. Unfortunately, the enormous amount of water used to kill the flames can leave your home drenched and subject to mold, mildew, and pathogens that threaten your health. The sooner you call a restoration company, the faster you can work to rid your property of pathogens that cause asthma, pneumonia, and other health conditions.

Don’t let the heat of a fire and smoke damage get to your head.

Flood Department can handle every aspect of your structure’s restoration, including the removal of soot, odor, debris, hazardous toxins, water, and repairing structural damage. We will also assess your site and stabilize the fire and smoke damage, using a proven and certified restoration process.
